My 6-year-old was nervous about putting his face in the water until we tossed these in. They fill with sand so they drop fast and sit upright at the bottom, which makes them way easier to grab than the hollow ones we had before. Now he begs to go "dino hunting" every swim session.
These sink straight to the bottom and stay there, which is exactly what I needed for my 6-year-old who's still getting comfortable going under. The sand filling makes them feel solid in the hand, not cheap and floaty like some others we've tried. He'll spend a full hour diving for all three.
My kids were nervous about putting their faces in the water, but chasing these little dinos around the pool changed that in one afternoon. They sink at a good speed, not so fast that a beginner loses them, and the sand filling keeps them upright on the bottom instead of floating off sideways.
