The chest strap actually makes a difference on long walks, keeps the weight from digging into my shoulders. And the quilted fabric is way softer than I figured for a backpack. Side bottle pocket fits my 32oz without stretching out.

The chest strap really does help balance the load once you tighten it, which i appreciate on longer walks. Bottle pocket fits my thermos snugly without bulging. Only wish the front zipper pocket were a touch deeper for my phone, but otherwise it's a solid everyday pack.
